In recent years CityJet has transitioned from being an airline serving scheduled markets under its own brand to becoming a provider of capacity to customer airlines throughout Europe. Today CityJet announced that effective from October 27th it will no longer operate scheduled services marketed under its own brand.

Also announced today was a leasing arrangement between Aer Lingus and CityJet that will see CityJet provide two aircraft to Aer Lingus to operate the Dublin-London City route.  Commencing 28th October, Aer Lingus will operate six daily round trips from Dublin to London City Airport on weekdays, with a reduced service at the weekend.

Intending passengers holding bookings to/from London City on CityJet flights will be transferred to Aer Lingus flights.
For those with questions regarding bookings already made post 28th of October we hope the following FAQ will provide satisfactory answers.

Dates you need to be aware of

10th September 2018- Last available date to submit a refund to CityJet
11th September 2018- Aer Lingus will accept all live CityJet bookings for travel from 28th October
1st October 2018- You will receive your new Aer Lingus booking reference directly from Aer Lingus on or before this date

Am I entitled to a refund?

Yes, you are entitled to a full refund if you booked a CityJet flight for travel from 28th October onwards
You must submit for a refund with CityJet before 10th September 2018 directly

I booked through a Travel Agency/ Travel Management Company

You must submit your refund request directly to your travel agency

What fare type will my booking move to?

City Value ticket holders will be re-accommodated with Plus fares on equivalent Aer Lingus flights
City Flex ticket holders will be re-accommodated with Advantage fares on equivalent Aer Lingus flights
City Premium ticket holders will be re-accommodated with Advantage fares on equivalent Aer Lingus flights

Will I receive a new booking reference and itinerary?

Yes, Aer Lingus will send you a new itinerary and booking reference number before the 28th September to the email address you provided to CityJet

I have still not received my new Aer Lingus itinerary and it has passed 28th September

Please contact Aer Lingus directly.

My flight is before the 28th of October, do I still contact CityJet?

CityJet will operate all passenger services as per normal for flights up to and including the 27th of October 2018

I need to change my booking, should I contact CityJet or Aer Lingus?

Upon receipt of your new itinerary, all changes to your booking will be handled by Aer Lingus guest services. you will need to contact the Aer Lingus Reservations on 1890 800 600 in Ireland or 0333 004 5000 from the UK.

My booking has a CityJet flight before and after 28th October 2018

Your outbound flight is unchanged.
You will receive a new itinerary for your return flight directly from Aer Lingus for the other flights

I am a CityJet passenger requiring special assistance, who should I contact now regarding my booking?

You can request assistance from Aer Lingus here https://www.aerlingus.com/support/forms/special-assistance-form/  upon receipt of your new itinerary. Any existing special assistance requests will be passed to Aer Lingus by CityJet or by calling 1890 800 250 and UK: 0333 006 6921

My new Aer Lingus flight times don’t suit?

Once you receive your new Aer Lingus booking reference, you will have one complimentary change associated to your booking for an alternative flight on the London City schedule.

I have an Aer Lingus AerClub. Can I now receive points for this flight?

Yes, you can redeem your AerClub points after your flight is flown via the Aer Lingus website

BAGGAGE & SEAT SELECTION:

What will happen to my free checked in bag?

One free checked in bag will be honoured on Aer Lingus for all shared bookings.

I need to add another bag to my booking

To add additional baggage, you will need to contact the Aer Lingus Reservations on 1890 800 600 in Ireland or 0333 004 5000 from the UK.

Do I have to pay for my seat?

No, all bookings transferred to Aer Lingus will have advanced seat selection included and priority boarding

CHECK-IN AT THE AIRPORT

Where will I check in online?

For flights from 28th October onwards, please check-in with Aer Lingus using your new booking reference number

On the day of my flight, where will my bag drop/airport check-in be located?

Dublin Airport- You will now be using Terminal 2
London City Airport- There will be a new Aer Lingus desk and baggage drop desk at London City Airport.
New check-in closure time is 45 minutes prior to flight

I experience flight disruption post 28th of October should I contact Aer Lingus or CityJet regarding EU261 compensation?

All post flight queries should be directed to Aer Lingus.

Are my rights under EU261 affected?

No, your rights under EU261 remain intact.

DATA PROTECTION

Who will be the controller of my data?

Aer Lingus Group DAC and CityJet DAC will be joint controllers of your data

How long will CityJet DAC process my personal data?

We will retain your data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose it is being processed for including:
To comply with our legal obligations including and not limited to immigration and custom requirements and claims against CityJet
To protect your vital interests or those of another person in the event of a medical emergency
In our legitimate interests as an airline for administration purposes
