CityJet will roll out the red carpet later this year when it makes Edinburgh the backdrop to a new partnership with the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) 2010. The Edinburgh International Film Festival will run from 16 – 27 June 2010 and will provide a 12-day programme of talent, innovation and discovery in the Scottish capital.
The partnership will see CityJet deliver some of the Festival’s biggest names to Edinburgh to enjoy all that it has to offer. The sponsorship is the latest move by CityJet to highlight its route from London City to Edinburgh and to show its commitment to Scotland. The route is continuing to perform strongly with CityJet bucking the recession’s spiralling impact on the airline industry by increasing capacity.
Geoffrey O’Byrne White, CityJet Chief Executive says: ‘We are all very excited about the partnership between CityJet and the Edinburgh International Film Festival. The Festival will see thousands of film followers descending upon the Scottish capital and we look forward to many of them flying with us. ‘ ‘As the most punctual airline flying from Edinburgh to London* we are confident that we can guarantee their arrival in style and comfort.’
Hannah McGill, EIFF Artistic Director says: ‘We are delighted to be partnering with CityJet. Bringing filmmakers and guests to the Festival is paramount to our success and to the enjoyment of our audiences, so CityJet will be a huge help to us this year.’
CityJet operates seven flights every weekday from Edinburgh to London City Airport and is the only carrier to offer direct flights from Dundee to London, operating four flights every weekday.
