Tuesday 8 June 2010
CityJet, the official airline to the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF), gave the real stars of the festival the VIP treatment, by ensuring the films to be premiered at this year's festival landed safely in the Scottish capital today, Tuesday 8 June 2010.
With only one print available in the world for many of the films being premiered at the 64th EIFF, cans of motion pictures are held under lock and key in a vault at the film festival's city headquarters.
As the official airline to EIFF, CityJet ensured films arrived safely at Edinburgh Airport under the watchful eye of CityJet cabin crew and airport security.
The Edinburgh International Film Festival will run from 16-27 June 2010 and will provide a 12-day programme, including 22 world premieres, 12 international premieres and 63 UK premieres as well as seeing stars such as Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Sean Connery and Tilda Swinton gracing the capital.
The sponsorship is the latest move by CityJet to highlight its route from London City to Edinburgh and to show its commitment to Scotland. The route continues to perform strongly, with CityJet being the most on time scheduled airline flying into Edinburgh airport from London*.
CityJet operates seven flights every weekday from Edinburgh to London City Airport and is the only carrier to offer direct flights from Dundee to London, operating four flights every weekday. Flights can be booked online at www.CityJet.com, at CityJet reservations on 0871 666 50 50 or via your travel agent.
