CityJet announces new summer schedule

CityJet Expands and Consolidates Network  

CityJet today outlined details of the new summer network and schedule that starts on the 30th of March, 2014. 

With the launch of the new Summer network, CityJet is focusing on strengthening its core routes from London City Airport, with increased frequencies on key destinations, while opening a number of new routes from Cardiff Airport. The increased capacity to existing destinations will strengthen the CityJet current network, and will provide additional connections to passengers flying on partner network hubs. 

Summer routes

Summer Schedule Highlights: 

CityJet will open four new routes from Cardiff byintroducing services from Cardiff to Glasgow and Paris-Orly on the 20thof January 2014, followed by flights to Jersey and Edinburgh for the Summerschedule

Increasing capacity 38% on London City – Dublin by increasing weekday flights from 5 per weekday to 7, all operated by the Avro RJ85

Increasing capacity 100% on London City – Florence by increasing weekly flights from 6 to 12

Increasing capacity 18% on London City – Paris by increasing weekday flights from 5 to7

Redeploying capacity on London City – Rotterdam on key rotations by introducing the Avro RJ85
increasing capacity by 50% on London City – Toulon by increasing weekly flights to 3 from 2

Commenting on the new schedule, Simon Spinks, CityJet’s Chief Commercial Officer said, “We are working on a series of improvements to enhance the travel experience for our customers, and optimising our network is the first step. It is designed to offer passengers more choice and convenient schedules to choose from.

"We’re also very excited to be launching a new network from Cardiff, providing vital connections from Wales to Scotland, Jersey and France. At the same time we will continue to rationalise our network by removing unprofitable routes.

With the new reconfiguration of the network, CityJet will withdraw loss-making routes, mainly in Germany and Luxembourg. Passengers affected by the route withdrawals are being contacted and offered a full refund on their ticket, or rebooked on alternative routes/services where possible.

Cardiff flights to Glasgow and Paris-Orly are available for sale immediately, and flights to Edinburgh and Jersey as well as all seasonal flights will be available to purchase by the end of January.
