Press Release: Tuesday 7th September 2010
CityJet becomes primary travel partner of Excel London – London’s international exhibition & convention centre.
CityJet, the airline that flies from the heart of London, has become a primary travel partner of ExCeL London, serving the key international MiCE and exhibition market and East London business community. Following a £165 million construction programme earlier this year, ExCeL London is now home to the Capital’s first-ever International Convention Centre, which includes the UK’s largest fully flexible auditorium, seating 5000 people and London’s largest banqueting hall, accommodating 3000 for a sit down meal. As a primary travel partner, CityJet’s groups offer and charter products are automatically highlighted in all marketing materials distributed by ExCeL London along with its point to point European route network from London City Airport, together with the proximity of the airport to ExCeL London. In addition, as part of the AIR FRANCE KLM Group, CityJet’s worldwide network connections from London City Airport via Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Orly are profiled along with AIR FRANCE KLM’s Global Meetings discounted fares. Says Laurent Petitmangin, Head of Sales & Marketing, CityJet, ‘Being a primary travel partner of ExCeL London represents an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our group and charter offer as well as to highlight our network from London City Airport. It also serves as a timely reminder to the MiCE & exhibition community that we are part of a global airline network with all the benefits that brings including our Flying Blue loyalty programme. We are certainly the best placed and most flexible travel option for European and worldwide MiCE & event organisers looking to host events in London.’ Says David Pegler, Managing Director, from - ExCeL London, ‘We’re delighted CityJet is on board as a primary travel partner. Over three quarters of the events we host at ExCeL London have an international element to them requiring efficient and seamless travel planning. CityJet, together with the AIR FRANCE KLM global network, is perfectly placed to deliver this from our local London City Airport.’
