CityJet appoints Christine Ourmières to the position of CEO..

CityJet’s Chairman Pat Byrne announced today the appointment of Christine Ourmières to the Board of Directors of the airline as well as to the position of CEO, effective October 1st.
Upon the announcement, Mr. Byrne said: ’’I would like to welcome Christine to the Board and I look forward to handing over the CEO role, which I have been acting in for the last month, upon her arrival in Dublin . This is, I believe, the first time a female has been appointed to lead an Irish airline.’’
With more than 20 years’ experience working in the airline industry, Ms. Ourmières has held a variety of key management positions. She began her career at Air France in 1988 in the Maintenance Department, and then moved to the Information Systems Department.
In 1992 she transferred to Amadeus as VP Sales and Marketing for the French Market.
From 1998 to 2001 she held the position of VP Air France Global Sales. In 2002 she was promoted to the position of VP International Sales.
In 2005, Ms. Ourmières was named General Manager of Air France and KLM, UK and Ireland.
Most recently she held the position as the first General Manager and VP for Air France and KLM in the US.
Ms. Ourmières holds a Master of Aeronautics from the Ecole National Supérieure d’Ingénieurs and an MBA from Essec Business School.

I am looking forward to returning to the UK and Ireland in my new position,” said Christine Ourmières.
CityJet operates a franchise route network from various European cities into the Air France hub at Paris, CDG. CityJet also operates a route network in and out of London City airport where it accounts for almost 50% of all activity at that downtown airport. In 2008 CityJet acquired Belgian airline, VLM which is now re-branded as CityJet. The CityJet group employs 1,1,00 people and operates a fleet of over 40 aircraft.
