London City Lowest Fares
| CityJet destination guide Luxembourg
Things to do in Luxembourg February/March Delicately nestled between the banks of the river Ourthe and the scraggy peaks of the Deister hills, the feudal castle, built between the 11th and 13th centuries, dominates La-Roche-en-Ardenne’s skyline. At one time a Roman fort, a private villa, a Gaul settlement and a medieval fortress, La Roche’s castle also shows signs of life from neolithic times. But it is its medieval epoch that resonates most with visitors, seeing as the ghost that seems to inhabit the castle was alive at that time. Countess Berthe, unlucky in love and cursed with a dominating father, makes her daily appearance in July and August and, being a Countess, only weather permitting during Easter and in September. The castle also stages re-enactments, fireworks, a sound and light show and a medieval festival, mostly during the summer months.

SECRETS
Getting home after a night on the town in Luxembourg could not be easier. Not only are there free night buses on a number of routes, but if you want more flexibility, the Nightrider bus service allows you to call up a minibus to take you home-a bit like a taxi-but a lot cheaper (www.nightrider.lu). Subsidised by the government, it's €10 for a single journey anywhere in the city and €15 return.
